Workshop
In our national workshop of the project we addressed topic of social exclusion in Croatia, as we covered various critical aspects related to the topic, incorporating official data to validate our findings. Here is a summary of the key points discussed:
1. Social Inclusion Concept:

We provided a comprehensive overview of the social inclusion concept, emphasizing its importance in fostering a cohesive society. The presentation highlighted the significance of ensuring equal opportunities, access to resources, and participation for all members of society.
2. Social Inclusion of Young People:

Our focus extended to the specific challenges and opportunities related to the social inclusion of young people in Croatia. We delved into educational opportunities, employment prospects, and the overall well-being of the youth demographic, incorporating relevant statistics to illustrate the current scenario.
3. Influence of Poverty on Social Inclusion:

A significant portion of the presentation was dedicated to exploring the intricate relationship between poverty and social exclusion. We presented official data showcasing the impact of economic disparities on access to education, healthcare, and social services, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions.
4. Strategy of the Social Inclusion of the Government of the Republic of Croatia:

The presentation outlined the existing strategies implemented by the Government of the Republic of Croatia to address social inclusion. We discussed policy frameworks, legislative initiatives, and practical measures aimed at mitigating social exclusion, backed by official data to assess the effectiveness of these strategies.

5. We also presented a project “Invisible Zagreb”.
Invisible Zagreb is an educational tour that focuses on the problem of homelessness and living in extreme poverty in Croatia. The tour is led by former and current homeless people who talk about homelessness in a simple and accessible way, showing at the same time the other side of famous Zagreb locations. It is based on voluntary donations, and each donation is aimed at improving the living conditions of the homeless.

6. We undertook 2 activities from “COMPASS - Manual for human rights”.
Those were:
- 3 things - This activity uses discussion and diamond ranking to help people understand what it is like to suddenly flee one’s home.
- Can I come in? - This is a role play activity about a group of refugees trying to escape to another country. It addresses the plight of refugees and the social and economic arguments for giving and denying asylum.
Throughout the presentation, our goal was to provide a holistic understanding of the social exclusion landscape in Croatia, drawing attention to the specific challenges faced by young people and the role of poverty in perpetuating social disparities. By examining the government's strategies, we aimed to assess the ongoing efforts to promote social inclusion and identify potential areas for improvement. The incorporation of official data lent credibility to our findings, offering a data-driven perspective on the current state of social inclusion in Croatia.
